The office was empty and I stayed longer than necessary

Dear Delyara, I was the last one in the office tonight and didn’t leave straight away. There is something about empty workplaces after everyone goes home that makes me feel strange. The performance ends. The room becomes simpler. The building feels honest in a way it doesn’t during the day. I sat there longer than I needed to, not working, just adjusting slowly to the idea of returning to myself. I think transitions are harder for me than I admit.
