My Diary
The room felt wrong and I couldn’t explain why
Dear Delyara, I was sitting in a completely ordinary room today and suddenly felt deeply uncomfortable. Nothing obvious was wrong. The people were fine. The conversation was normal. The air was not even particularly tense. And still, something in me had started bracing. I became more aware of my hands, my posture, my voice, the door, the time, the need to leave without making it look like leaving. I hate that feeling. That quiet internal alarm without a clear sentence attached to it. I stayed. I was polite. I did the normal thing. But I came home more tired than the situation deserved. That’s what these kinds of moments do.
