My Diary
The room got quiet and I didn’t trust it at first
Dear Delyara, I noticed tonight how suspicious I still am of peace. The room went still, the phone stopped, the day had no more surprises in it, and instead of relaxing immediately, my body stayed half-alert. It was as if some part of me was waiting for the interruption. The message. The memory. The practical problem. The thing that would prove the calm was temporary. Eventually I softened. But not quickly. I think nervous systems learn patterns slowly. And unlearn them even slower.
