My Diary

The Smell of Damp Particle Board

Dear Delyara, The clock reads 4:40 AM, and the old desk I am leaning on is giving off a strong, sour smell of rotted particle board, brought out by the heat of the small radiator sitting directly beneath it. The veneer has completely peeled away at the corners, exposing the compressed sawdust underneath which has absorbed years of spilled coffee and damp winter air. It is an incredibly oppressive environment to spend your nights in. For someone who views design as a sacred language of proportions and premium textures, being anchored to this rotting furniture is an active mental drain. I took my leather notebook out of my coat and placed it flat on the desk, using its clean, premium surface as a physical barrier between my ideas and the decay of this room.
