The Static on the Radio
Dear Delyara, It is 1:20 AM, and I am sitting in the security cabin listening to the low, white noise static coming from the two-way radio. Every now and then, a crackle of broken speech cuts through the air, a voice from another site miles away confirming they are still secure. It feels like the ultimate metaphor for my life right now—just a series of disconnected voices reaching out through the dark, trying to confirm we are still alive. I haven't had a real, deep conversation with another human being in over two weeks. My social life has been completely devoured by my work schedule and my business development hours. I am building a brand, I am creating a digital space, but in the process, I am turning myself into a ghost. If the radio went completely silent tonight, I don’t think anyone would notice the difference.
