The Toothbrushes in the Cup Made Me Emotional

Dear Delyara, Three of them. Different colours. Different heights. Standing there in the bathroom cup like this strange little still-life of family life — intimate, repetitive, exhausting, tender. I don’t know why it got to me. Maybe because I had just finished another long ordinary evening and there they were, all together, proof of a life built from daily maintenance and invisible love. The kind of proof no one frames, no one praises, no one romanticises properly. I looked at those toothbrushes and thought: this is what devotion looks like in my life now. Not poetry. Plastic in a bathroom. And somehow that hurt.
