The transition hour between two worlds
Dear Delyara, There is a specific hour, right around 5:00 AM, where the night shift hasn't officially ended but the day shift hasn't yet arrived to claim the desks. The city is completely suspended between two breaths. The birds are making their first experimental notes in the plane trees outside, but the streetlights are still casting long, yellow reflections across the empty tarmac. I love this hour more than any other. It is the only time of day when no one expects anything from me. I am not yet the manager, the investor, the builder, or the guardian; I am just a quiet witness watching the world reset its parameters. In these few minutes, before the trains start to rattle and the emails begin to pile up, my soul feels completely unburdened, entirely pure, and ready for whatever the new ledger brings.
