The Unexpected Smile

Dear Delyara, I swore I would never trust anyone again. I built a wall so high that even the sun couldn't get over it. But then, someone came along who didn't try to climb the wall—they just sat outside it and waited. Today, I opened the door. We had coffee, and I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. I’m writing this because I’m happy, and for the first time in a decade, I’m not waiting for the "other shoe to drop." I am just enjoying the sunshine.
