My Diary

The Unread Chapter

Dear Delyara, It is 1:45 AM, and I am sitting at my desk with an old textbook open in front of me, but I haven't turned the page in an hour. My eyes keep drifting to the window, watching the occasional taxi spray rainwater onto the pavement below. I told myself that tonight I would use my off-shift hours to study, to build my business models, to push myself closer to the life I actually want. Instead, I am completely paralyzed by my own mind. The pressure to succeed, to climb out of this hole, to prove everyone wrong, has become so heavy that it completely freezes me in place. I am terrified that I’m running out of time, that my best years are leaking away into these quiet night shifts, and that the grand future I keep planning is just a beautiful lie I tell myself to keep from breaking down completely.
