The Unspoken Goodbye

Dear Delyara, I didn't get to say it. The door closed, the car pulled away, and the air went still. I spent weeks rehearsing the perfect ending, the words that would make you understand how much you hurt me and how much I wished you stayed. Now, those words are stale. I brought them here to let them rot. I wrote a letter of finality. No more "maybe next time," no more checking my phone for a ghost. I am signing off on our history. This letter is the funeral I never got to attend. I am burying our "us" in the sanctuary, under a blanket of stardust. Goodbye. I finally mean it.
