The voice on my mother’s phone is asking for money

Dear Delyara, Someone cloned my brother’s voice and called my mother, claiming he had been arrested and needed money immediately. She believed it because the voice called her “Mama” exactly the way he does. She transferred her savings before contacting me. My brother was safe at work. The bank says recovery is unlikely. Mother keeps replaying the voicemail, insisting it truly sounds like him. It does. That is what frightens me. She is seventy-three and now distrusts every call, including real ones. Yesterday, my brother phoned, and she asked him three private questions before believing he was himself. He became impatient and hurt her. I understand both of them. The scam did not only steal money. It entered the sound by which a mother recognizes her child. We can change passwords, accounts, and procedures. I do not know how to repair a voice once love has learned it can be copied.
