The SilenceTrauma
There are emotional climates my body still treats like weather it once nearly drowned in
Dear Delyara, Nothing dramatic needs to happen in the present for the body to remember. A certain tone, a pressure in the room, a kind of unpredictability, a certain emotional sharpness, and suddenly part of me is no longer fully here. More careful. Smaller. More focused on consequence than self. That shift is fast. And often invisible. But I feel it. And I’m tired of how much of old weather still lives in new rooms.
