The SilenceSecrets
There are truths about my marriage I still cannot say out loud without feeling disloyal
Dear Delyara, That is one of the loneliest prisons in adult life. Not that the truth is unclear. That speaking it feels like betrayal, even when the silence is betraying me more. There are things I know. About the distance. About the way I feel unseen. About how often I choose quiet over honesty because I cannot face the emotional cost of one more hard conversation that may still change nothing. About what I miss. About what I fear. About what I suspect is already thinning beyond repair. And still I don’t say them fully. Not to friends. Not to family. Sometimes not even cleanly to myself. Secrets don’t only protect relationships. They also starve them. I know that. And still I carry these unsaid truths like warm stones in my mouth.
