They stopped inviting us after the third miscarriage

Dear Delyara, My closest friends all have young children. After my first miscarriage, they brought food. After the second, they sent messages. After the third, the invitations slowly stopped. They said they did not want to upset me with baby showers, birthdays, or family outings. I told them I wanted to be included. They said they understood. Last weekend, I saw photographs of all of them at a picnic in the park. Children running, blankets on the grass, my empty place invisible in every frame. One friend later wrote, “We assumed it would be hard for you.” It was hard. Being excluded was harder. Grief has already taken three pregnancies from me; now it is taking the people who knew me before I became the woman everyone handles carefully. I do not want them to hide their children. I want them to remember that I am still alive in a world where other people’s babies exist. Tonight, our group chat is full of polite silence. I keep typing a message and deleting it because I do not know how to ask friends to stop protecting me by leaving me alone.
