TODAY WAS MY BIRTHDAY AND NOBODY REMEMBERED

Dear Delyara, Today was my birthday and nobody remembered. The system clock on my monitor just flipped past midnight, marking the official end of it. I spent all twelve hours sitting in a cold security cabin, checking delivery manifests and watching empty tarmac. Not a single person called. No text messages, no automated greetings, not even a casual "happy birthday" from the day shift guy when he handed over the keys. I spent the entire evening staring at the pale blue screen of my phone, watching the battery slowly drain, hoping against hope that maybe someone was just busy and would remember at the last minute. They didn’t. It’s a terrifying feeling to realize you’ve become so invisible to the world that your entire day of birth passes by without leaving a single ripple in anyone else’s life. I blew out the small lighter in my pocket just to feel like I marked the moment, and then I went back to the logs.
