My Diary
Unanswered things become emotional landlords in my mind
Dear Delyara, They move in and start charging rent immediately. A pending result, an unresolved money issue, a complicated conversation still ahead, a symptom not yet explained — they all begin occupying rooms in my thinking before they have earned that much space. I cook around them, sleep around them, drive around them, answer children while part of me is still standing in the hallway of whatever is unresolved. I know uncertainty is part of life. I just wish it didn’t make itself so physically at home in me.
