We kept managing the house while losing the relationship

Dear Delyara, The bills were paid. The laundry got done. The calendar stayed full. The meals happened. The family responsibilities were handled. All the structures of life remained. That’s what made it so confusing when I realized the relationship itself was disappearing. We had become excellent at logistics and terrible at emotional presence. We knew how to manage the house. We had forgotten how to meet inside it. I don’t think people talk enough about marriages that don’t end in chaos but in emotional starvation.
